Book Week 201414.02.2014
From 10 to 14 February at the Miras School a Book Week was held.
This is — a very special time when we celebrate books and instill a love of reading. As part of this week carried a lot of interesting events.
The aim of Children’s Book Week is to encourage and familiarize children to enjoy reading for pleasure, create optimal conditions for development of children’s creative abilities.
Book week events not only engage students in reading, discover their talents and tastes, but also help them to understand the importance of lifelong reading, a role of books in their life.
The Book week started with a video presentation of ‘Opening the Book — Open the World’. Colourful posters displayed in the library and in the Secondary school atrium created an atmosphere of celebration. During the Book Week all the students have been participated in various events and contests with pleasure.
On the lessons of Russian, Kazakh and English, the students extracted best quotations and citations devoted to books. The students could share their thoughts and feelings, showed how the various words may be funny, playful and serious. A chain of quotations will be hung in the atrium.

In the Primary school Students from Grade 9 B were reading books with the Primary school pupils. They were not only reading books nor discussing actual themes from the books. Reading books was very interesting and exciting for the children.
Children from Kinderdorf came to the school on February 11. In the library joint reading was held with them. The students of Grade 10 were played with the children. After the meeting they were given presents.

Also reading leaders were chosen by teachers and their names were displayed in the atrium and library. In this year we made a library book of honour called «Super Readers» where best school readers of last 3 academic years were represented.
