Miras School is holding events every day this week as part of the celebration of our national holiday “Nauryz”. Today, March 15, Grade 5 students visited the Cultural Centre of the #46 German School, where representatives were very welcoming.
The head of the Cultural Center told us about activities of the German grammar school and the special way in which they approach the development of children. We were shown the work of Sunday School students and products from various clubs. The centre offers a huge number of different activities.
Our students were then invited to participate in craft work; namely, to get acquainted with the concept of quilling — art produced from flat or bulk compositions of twisted spirals in long, narrow strips of paper. It was suggested to create a scene of trees and flowers. Our students were very keen and interested in this activity, which requires both absolute accuracy, and a lot of patience. Children were able to take their product home with them.
After the event, the head of the Cultural Centre wished our students every success in school and invited the to join the Sunday school and clubs if interested.
On the same day, Grade 4 students visited the Palace of Peace and Concord, where they studied Ukrainian culture. During the master class they learned to draw national ornaments and other figures on glass, cross stitching and making national decoration of coins. They made cards and learned painting techniques.
