Miras International School of Astana provides an education within a challenging and supportive environment that promotes all aspects of individual growth, and equips them with the skills for lifelong learning.

The Miras International School, Astana (is the member of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Educational Foundation) was formally opened on September 2, 1999 as a private educational institution offering a curriculum based on the Kazakh National Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes. In 2004 we made a great achievement, becoming the only the school in Kazakhstan accredited by the New England Association of the Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the Council of International Schools (CIS) and authorized by the International Baccalaureate for three IB Programmes (PYP, MYP and DP).

The IB programmes implemented in our school promote education by instilling attributes of a «life-long learner» embodied in the IB Learner Profile. The school philosophy is based on the IB mission and emphasizes intellectual, personal, and social growth of a student.

The School provides a holistic, stimulating, balanced and challenging education. The programs follow three stages: Kindergarten to Grade 5; Grades 6–10, Grade 11.

In Grade 11th programme, students follow specific subjects, designed to help them prepare to enter universities in Kazakhstan, Russia, and overseas. Students can learn in English, Kazakh and Russian.

Within the school community there are many intellectual and sporting events and contests, assemblies and the extra-curricular programme. The Community and Service programme emphasizes the best human qualities of the students. Students help veterans and disadvantaged families.

The students have achieved success in Astana city in National subject Olympiads and Science projects earning awards in Mathematics, Geography, Chemistry, Kazakh, English and French. The contribution of four of our students has been recognized by the CIS Award for international Understanding.

The school offers a daily three-meal board, medical and psychological services. There is a boarding facility where students outside of Astana live. Students feel very safe and comfortable in the created homely atmosphere.
